Desktop PC Shopping Mistakes

The most common mistake people can make when buying a desktop PC is to buy the least expensive system, but ending up comprising on functionality. It is also possible that what looks like a good deal turns out to be otherwise when one reads the fine print, such as buying a unit that comes with a year of ISP service that will not be used. One should also factor in the cost of computer peripherals and software to the overall budget.

Extended warranties are tricky, because people who buy them are basically expecting the unit to fail before a certain date. These warranties are expensive and usually not worth it, because failures often happen long after the warranty period ends. It is better to save the money that would have been spent on this for future replacement costs.
